Jeremy Clarkson Height

Speed focuses the mind. It cuts through the fog of drab everyday living and keeps us on our toes. Speed works. Speed saves lives. Speed is good. And we should have more of it, not less.

~ Jeremy Clarkson

Famous English television presenter, and journalist, Jeremy Clarkson is best known for the motoring programmes Top Gear and The Grand Tour alongside Richard Hammond and James May. Clarkson has hosted the ITV game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?.

About Jeremy Clarkson's Real Height

Jeremy Clarkson is known for his height as well. He is a huge man who towers over everyone who comes in contact with him, particularly Richard Hammond. But Richard is barely 5 feet 5½ inches tall as things stand.

Jeremy is universally thought to be 6 feet 5 inches tall, even his Wikipedia page says so. Jeremy himself also used to claim to be 6'5" but now says he is 6'4". Here is what he has to say on the subject:

I have a friend who’s not very tall. I shan’t tell you his name, save to say that it begins with R and ends in D. He’s bright and funny and much cleverer than you’d imagine, and he’s very interesting on the subject of being not very tall.

He tells me that when he’s at a standing-up party, he feels that tall people deliberately surround him and that when they’re talking to one another, he feels left out. Like he’s a microlight in a sky full of airliners. He says he feels “uncomfortable” talking to me — I’m 6 feet 4 inches tall — and Lisa, my girlfriend, who is 6 feet 1 inches, even though we only once mistook the top of his head for a table and put a pint on it. And we did apologize profusely afterward.

The most interesting observation he makes, though, is that in his mind tall people wilfully and cruelly set out each morning to humiliate the small. He thinks we scan a cinema to find the shortest person in the audience and then deliberately sit in front of them. He thinks we cut him up in traffic because he’s smaller than us and that we barge in front of him in queues for the same reason. And I’m sure other little people think the same way.

Now you must already guessed that Jeremy's mysterious short friend is none other than Richard Hammond.

Anyway, height loss with aging (due to compression and dehydration of spinal discs) is a real thing and taller people are more prone to it than the shorter ones -- due to having a longer spine.

So it is entirely possible that now in his mid-sixties Jeremy is shorter than he used to be.

The real height of Jeremy Clarkson is

It’s what non-car people don’t get. They see all cars as just a ton and a half, two tons of wires, glass, metal, and rubber, and that’s all they see. People like you or I know we have an unshakable belief that cars are living entities… You can develop a relationship with a car and that’s what non-car people don’t get… When something has foibles and won’t handle properly, that gives it a particularly human quality because it makes mistakes, and that’s how you can build a relationship with a car that other people won’t get.
