Amitabh Bachchan Height

Change is the nature of life but the challenge is the future of life. So challenge the changes. Never change the challenges.

Amitabh Bachchan has shrunk and so will you -- everyone does, if they are lucky enough that is. American country singer Trace Adkins who was 6 feet 6 inches tall in his prime, once said this about his height:

I used to be 6'6", but I think I'm shrinking a little. Hoping to live long enough to be 5'2".

Height loss is a normal part of aging. Taller and bulkier people are especially prone to it because of relatively more place between their vertebrae discs and more load on it. Though we have to say Amitabh is holding his height remarkably well for his age. Jackie Shroff who is many decades younger than him seemed to have lost several inches only in his 50s.

Anyway, how tall Amitabh Bachchan was in his youth and how tall he is now. Well, the media in India used to always describe Amitabh Bachchan as 6 feet 3 inches tall. But Amitabh himself mentioned his height in a televised interview as 6 feet 2 inches and weight as 86 kg.

We think Amitabch was that tall. If you watch his movies you would realize that he was at least 2 inches taller than Shatrughan Sinha who was 6 feet tall.

Amitabh also looked at least 2.5 inches taller than Vinod Khanna who was, we think 5'11.5". You can say Amitabh had 5 inches on Dharmendra, who was, we think 5'9" in his prime. The only people who were taller than Amitabh onscreen were Dev Kumar and Praveen Kumar Sobti, who were 6'4" and 6'6" respectively.

Though like we said, Amitabh was shrunk with age and looks a bit shorter than he used to be. From what we have seen of him recently, especially with the likes of Abhishek Bachchan (6'1½"), Akshay Kumar (5'11"), Aamir Khan (5'5"), etc. we think Amitabh still looks at least 6 feet tall.

The real height of Amitabh Bachchan in his prime was

6'2" or 188 cm

Present height is

6" or 183 cm

Amitabh Bachchan was a poetic soul, here are a few of his profound quotes:

Amitabh Bachchan on being unperfect.

No one is perfect, and criticism is always welcome and expected.

Amitabh Bachchan on women.

Because you are a woman, people will force their thinking on you, their boundaries on you. They will tell you how to dress, how to behave, who you can meet, and where you can go. Don't live in the shadows of people's judgment. Make your own choices in the light of your own wisdom.

Amitabh Bachchan on being introverted.

I would like to believe that I still am a shy person; I am very introverted. I have a problem communicating.

Amitabh Bachchan on donation.

Donate and do not talk about it, they say you do nothing for society; do and talk about it, they say you seek publicity!

Amitabh Bachchan on his acting chops.

I don't use any techniques; I'm not trained to be an actor. I just enjoy working on films.

Amitabh Bachchan on communities.

Coming together should be considered something positive for people and communities. When thoughts come together, they can be more positive than an individual thought.

Amitabh Bachchan on his web activities.

I write my own blog every day. I do Twitter every day and Facebook. Without a gap. I do everything myself: I load my own photographs; I sometimes take my own videos and post them.

Amitabh Bachchan on tomorrow.

I'd like to believe that tomorrow is another challenge for me. I'm sure there is lots more for me to do because there is lots and lots of stuff still to be explored.

Amitabh Bachchan on keep working.

I want to keep working. I shall continue to do my best.

Amitabh Bachchan on his daily routine.

I get up in the morning, have a job to do, go there, come home, be with the family, that's it.

Amitabh Bachchan on the past.

I don't spend much time looking back at what happened. I do remember it, but I don't see any purpose of wanting to look back.

Amitabh Bachchan on an actor's life.

Life is a blur when one is essaying different roles; it is so fulfilling.

Amitabh Bachchan on the audience's taste.

People are fed up with seeing the same thing over and over. They want a qualitative change.

Amitabh Bachchan on his professionalism.

As a professional, I cannot afford to be complacent.

Amitabh Bachchan on his image on the screen.

People ask me why it is that when I portray the 'angry young man' on screen, I really look angry. The reason that it is due to some suppression in my childhood. But, it's just that I can't help it; it's in my genes.

Amitabh Bachchan on his writing.

I am not in the least eloquent or fluent in languages. My writing on social media is quite pedestrian. But even if it was near any acceptability, I would not be in a position to pen a script or a book.

Amitabh Bachchan on his excitement as a creative person.

I like to feel the butterflies in my stomach, I like to go home and have a restless night and wonder how I'm going to be able to accomplish this feat and get jittery. That hunger and those butterflies in the stomach are very essential for all creative people.

Amitabh Bachchan on wearing stylish clothes.

The best part about being a superstar is that you can wear the most outrageous of clothes and they say 'it's in!

Amitabh Bachchan on gadgets.

In my childhood, I was obsessed with cameras but could not afford one. After much persuasion, my father Harivansh Rai Bachchan bought me a box camera that I treasured for years. Initially, I clicked trees and nature and as I grew up started noticing prettier things-motorbike, sleek cars, and cool girls. But the hamartia of life is when you desire something you cannot afford it and when you are able to afford it you are too old to use it. Now I don't need all gadgets but it's satisfying to know that at least I can afford them.
